During this period, the Pathology for the World team, led by Paolo Giovenale, collaborated closely with the local pathologist employed at Ikonda Hospital. The team has focused on optimizing the telepathology link and sustaining local support. To date, the service has proven effective, having processed and diagnosed a total of 2,022 specimens, indicating continued growth in its scope of work. Moreover, the team is pleased with the quality of the slides prepared by the technicians. Several nearby hospitals have begun sending samples for histopathological analysis. Monolayer liquid cytology techniques are operational and increasingly being adopted in regional hospitals. Giovenale is scheduled to return in October to provide additional training and ongoing refinement of the telepathology services, as well as to integrate a group of Italian pathologists into the program.
